Indications for Use

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to tenofovir, emtricitabine, or any excipients.
- Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min).
- Concurrent use with other medications containing tenofovir or emtricitabine.
Adverse Effects
Common:
- Headache, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, rash, fatigue.
Rare:
- Lactic acidosis, hepatomegaly, renal impairment, osteomalacia.
Very rare:
- Pancreatitis, rhabdomyolysis, allergic reactions.
Recommendations for Use
Administration:
- Take tablets orally with sufficient water, preferably with food.
Precautions:
- Conduct an HIV test before initiating therapy.
- Regularly monitor renal function and viral load during treatment.
- Avoid concurrent use with nephrotoxic drugs.
Special Instructions:
- If symptoms of lactic acidosis occur (e.g., weakness, shortness of breath, abdominal pain), discontinue the medication immediately and seek medical attention.
- This medication does not completely prevent HIV transmission. For maximum protection, combine medication with barrier contraception methods.
