Active ingredient

Riboflavin (vitamin B₂) is a water-soluble vitamin involved in redox reactions and metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.

Dosage
  • Adults: 10 mg (1 ml of 1% solution) intramuscularly 1 time per day. The course of treatment is 10-20 days.
  • Children: depending on age, 5-10 mg (0.5–1 ml of 1% solution) intramuscularly for 3-5 consecutive days, then 2-3 times a week.

Riboflavin for Injection 10 mg/1 ml is a medication containing vitamin B₂ (riboflavin) used for the prevention and treatment of conditions associated with riboflavin deficiency.

Indications for Use:

  1. Hypovitaminosis and Vitamin B₂ Deficiency.
  2. Skin Disorders:
    • Itchy dermatoses, neurodermatitis, chronic eczema, photodermatoses.
  3. Ophthalmic Conditions:
    • Conjunctivitis, keratitis, iritis, corneal ulcer, cataracts.
  4. Non-Healing Wounds and Ulcers.
  5. General Eating Disorders and Asthenia.
  6. Radiation Sickness.
  7. Gastrointestinal and Liver Disorders:
    • Intestinal dysfunction, hepatitis.

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity to riboflavin or any components of the drug.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use is not recommended due to insufficient safety data.

Side Effects:

  1. Allergic Reactions:
    • Skin rash, pruritus (itching), urticaria (hives).
  2. Respiratory System:
    • Rarely, bronchospasm.
  3. Gastrointestinal System:
    • Dyspeptic symptoms (e.g., nausea, abdominal discomfort).

Special Instructions:

  1. Effect on Laboratory Parameters:
    • May cause urine to appear light yellow, which is harmless and expected.
  2. Injection Reactions:
    • Injections may cause localized pain.
  3. Effect on Driving and Machinery Operation:
    • Does not impair the ability to perform activities requiring heightened concentration or psychomotor skills.
  4. Drug Interactions:
    • Antibiotics: May reduce the efficacy of doxycycline, tetracycline, oxytetracycline, erythromycin, and lincomycin.
    • Streptomycin: Incompatible with riboflavin.
    • Psychotropic Drugs: Chlorpromazine and amitriptyline can interfere with the conversion of riboflavin to its active coenzyme forms and increase its urinary excretion.
    • Thyroid Hormones: Accelerate riboflavin metabolism, potentially reducing its effectiveness.
