Prostandin Oil 0.003% is a topical preparation containing alprostadil alfadex (an alpha-cyclodextrin complex of alprostadil), a synthetic analogue of prostaglandin E₁. It is used for the treatment of various types of skin ulcers, including pressure sores, burns, diabetic ulcers, and trophic ulcers.

Indications for Use:

1. Pressure Sores (Pressure Ulcers).
2. Skin Ulcers of Various Etiologies:
   • Burn ulcers.
   • Diabetic ulcers.
   • Trophic ulcers.

Contraindications:

• Known hypersensitivity to alprostadil or any components of the drug.
• Conditions associated with an increased risk of bleeding, such as active bleeding or a predisposition to bleeding.
• Severe heart failure.

Side Effects:

1. Local Reactions:
   • Pain, irritation, burning, or itching at the site of application.
2. Allergic Reactions:
   • Skin rash, urticaria (hives).
3. Systemic Effects (Rare):
   • Headache, dizziness, decreased blood pressure.
