Active ingredient
Estradiol valerate is a synthetic estrogen that is converted into 17ß—estradiol in the body, making up for the lack of endogenous estrogens.
Dosage
- Recommended dose: 10 mg (1 ml of solution) is administered intramuscularly.
- Frequency of administration: usually once every 4 weeks, however, the treatment regimen is determined individually by the doctor, depending on the clinical situation and the needs of the patient.
- Method of administration: the drug is injected deeply intramuscularly, preferably into the gluteal muscle.
Progynon-Depot contains estradiol valerate, a synthetic analogue of the natural female sex hormone estradiol. It is used in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to compensate for estrogen deficiency in women.
Indications for Use:
- Menopausal Syndrome:
- Relief of symptoms associated with estrogen deficiency in peri- and postmenopause, such as hot flashes, sweating, sleep disturbances, irritability, and more.
- Prevention of Osteoporosis:
- For postmenopausal women at increased risk of fractures, particularly if other medications are contraindicated or poorly tolerated.
- Hypoestrogenic Conditions:
- Due to hypogonadism, castration, or primary ovarian insufficiency.
Contraindications:
- Known hypersensitivity to estradiol or any components of the drug.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding.
- Estrogen-Dependent Tumors: Confirmed or suspected (e.g., breast or endometrial cancer).

- Acute or Chronic Liver Diseases.
