Dosage form

Active ingredient

Rebamipid — helps to increase the production of mucin, a component of lacrimal fluid, stabilizing the tear film and improving the condition of the corneal epithelium.

Dosage
  • Recommended dose: 1 drop in the affected eye 4 times a day.

Method of application:

  • Shake the bottle thoroughly before use so that the suspension becomes homogeneous.
  • Avoid contact of the tip of the vial with the eye or other surfaces to prevent contamination.
  • After instillation, gently close the eye and lightly press on the inner corner of the eye for 1-5 minutes, then open the eye.
  • Remove excess solution around the eye with a clean cloth or cloth.
  • If you use other eye drops, take a break of at least 5 minutes between the use of various medications.

Mucosta Ophthalmic Suspension UD 2% is an ophthalmic medication containing rebamipide, designed for the treatment of dry eye syndrome.

Indications for Use:

  • Dry Eye Syndrome:
    • To improve the condition of the corneal epithelium associated with dry eyes.

Contraindications:

  • Known hypersensitivity to rebamipide or any other components of the medication.

Side Effects:

  1. Ocular Reactions:
    • Increased tearing.
    • Excess discharge from the eyes.
    • Discomfort in the eyes.
    • Redness and swelling in the inner corner of the eye.
    • Pain in the affected area.
  2. Allergic Reactions:
    • Skin rash, pruritus (itching).

Special Instructions:

  1. Contact Lenses:
    • The active ingredient may be adsorbed onto soft contact lenses. If discomfort occurs, discontinue lens use and consult an ophthalmologist.
  2. Pregnancy and Lactation:
    • Use only if prescribed by a healthcare provider and when clearly indicated.
  3. Driving and Machinery Operation:
    • Temporary blurred vision may occur after instillation. Refrain from driving or operating machinery until vision clarity is fully restored.
