Lunesta is the trade name for a medication containing the active ingredient eszopiclone, used for the treatment of insomnia.

Indications for Use:

Contraindications:

Side Effects:

  2. Complex Sleep Behaviors:
    • There is a risk of patients engaging in activities such as driving, eating, or making phone calls during sleep, with no recollection afterward.
  3. Interaction with Alcohol and CNS Depressants:
    • Co-administration with alcohol or other central nervous system (CNS) depressants can increase sedation and is not recommended.
  4. Discontinuation:
    • Abrupt discontinuation after prolonged use may lead to withdrawal symptoms. Gradual dose reduction under medical supervision is recommended.
