Loxonin
Loxonin is the trade name for a medication containing the active ingredient loxoprofen sodium. It belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and is used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and manage fever.
Indications for Use:
- Rheumatoid Arthritis.
- Osteoarthritis.
- Lumbago (low back pain).
- Shoulder and Scapular Periarthritis.
- Cervical-Shoulder Syndrome.
- Toothache, including pain after tooth extraction.
- Post-Traumatic and Post-Operative Pain Syndromes.
- Acute Upper Respiratory Tract Infections accompanied by pain and fever.
Contraindications:
- Known hypersensitivity to loxoprofen sodium or other components of the drug.
- Peptic Ulcer Disease of the stomach or duodenum in the acute phase.
- Severe hepatic or renal dysfunction.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Pediatric use: not recommended for children under 15 years of age.
Side Effects:
- Gastrointestinal:
- Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation.
- Exacerbation of peptic ulcer disease.
- Nervous System:
- Headache, dizziness, drowsiness.
- Allergic Reactions:
- Skin rash, pruritus (itching), urticaria (hives).
- Cardiovascular System:
- Elevated blood pressure, tachycardia.
- Respiratory System:
- Bronchospasm, particularly in patients with bronchial asthma.
Special Instructions:
- Use with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, cardiovascular conditions, or liver and kidney dysfunction.
- Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery during treatment due to the risk of dizziness and drowsiness.
- For prolonged use, regular monitoring of liver function, kidney function, and a complete blood count is recommended.
- Before starting treatment with Loxonin, consult a healthcare provider to determine the appropriateness of use and to select the optimal dosage. Self-medication is not advised and may result in adverse outcomes.
