Active ingredient
Rosuvastatin (as rosuvastatin calcium)
Dosage
- Initial dose: 5 or 10 mg once a day, regardless of meals.
- Dose adjustment: if necessary, the dose can be increased after 4 weeks.
- Maximum dose: 40 mg per day, prescribed in exceptional cases in patients with severe hypercholesterolemia and high risk of cardiovascular complications.
Crestor
Crestor is a hypolipidemic medication (statin) used to reduce cholesterol levels and prevent cardiovascular disease.
Tablet Description:
- 5 mg: Round, biconvex, yellow, engraved “ZD4522 5” on one side.
- 10 mg: Round, biconvex, pink, engraved “ZD4522 10” on one side.
- 20 mg: Round, biconvex, pink, engraved “ZD4522 20” on one side.
- 40 mg: Oval, biconvex, pink, engraved “ZD4522” on one side and “40” on the other.
Indications for Use:
- Primary hypercholesterolemia (Fredrickson type IIa), including familial heterozygous hypercholesterolemia.
- Mixed hyperlipidemia (Fredrickson type IIb).
- Familial homozygous hypercholesterolemia.
- Hypertriglyceridemia (Fredrickson type IV).
- Slowing the progression of atherosclerosis.
- Prevention of cardiovascular complications in patients at high risk of their development.
Contraindications:
- Known hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or any other components of the medication.
- Active liver disease.
- Severe renal impairment.
- Myopathy.
- Concurrent use of cyclosporine.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
