Dosage
  • Acute attack of gout: the initial dose is 1 mg (2 tablets of 0.5 mg), then 0.5 mg every 1-2 hours until pain relief. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 8 mg. Repeated use according to this scheme is possible not earlier than after 3 days. 
  • Prevention of acute attacks of gout: 0.5-1.5 mg daily or every other day for 3 months. 
  • Familial Mediterranean fever: dosage is selected individually by a doctor.

Colchicine

Colchicine is an anti-inflammatory medication primarily used for the treatment and prevention of gout and certain inflammatory conditions.

Indications for Use:

  • Management and prevention of acute gout flares.
  • Treatment of familial Mediterranean fever (FMF).
  • Prevention of amyloidosis associated with FMF.

Side Effects:

  • Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain.
  • Hematological: Leukopenia, thrombocytopenia.
  • Allergic Reactions: Rash, pruritus, or other hypersensitivity reactions.

Contraindications:

  • Known hypersensitivity to colchicine or its components.
  • Severe renal or hepatic impairment.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding, unless specifically prescribed under medical supervision.

Before starting treatment with Colchicine, consult a healthcare provider to determine the appropriate dosage and assess potential risks, especially in patients with pre-existing kidney or liver conditions.
