Dosage form
Patches containing 2 mg of rotigotine are packaged in a 70-pack.

Active ingredient
Rotigotine is a dopamine receptor agonist.
Dosage
  • Initial dose: 2 mg/24 h.
  • Dose titration: if necessary, the dose can be increased by 2 mg/24 h at weekly intervals until optimal therapeutic effect is achieved.
  • Maximum dose: 8 mg/24 h.

The patch is applied to clean, dry, intact skin, preferably on the abdomen, thigh, upper arm or lateral surface of the trunk. The application site should be changed daily, avoiding reapplication of the same area of skin for 14 days.



Hocunalin

Hocunalin is a transdermal therapeutic system (patch) containing rotigotine, designed for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome (RLS).

Indications for Use:

  • Monotherapy for the treatment of early-stage idiopathic Parkinson's disease.
  • Combination therapy with levodopa for late-stage Parkinson's disease.
  • Symptomatic treatment of moderate to severe restless legs syndrome.

Contraindications:

  • Known hypersensitivity to rotigotine or any other components of the drug.
  • Severe hepatic impairment.

Side Effects:

  • Local Reactions: Redness, itching, or irritation at the application site.
  • Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting.
  • Neurological: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache.
  • Cardiovascular: Orthostatic hypotension.

Precautions:

Before starting treatment with Hocunalin, consult a healthcare provider to determine the appropriate dosage and assess potential risks. Patients should monitor for skin reactions at the application site and symptoms of hypotension, particularly when standing. Regular liver function tests may be recommended for those at risk of hepatic complications.
