Active ingredient
Ferrous sulfate is a source of divalent iron, which is necessary for the synthesis of hemoglobin and ensuring normal hematopoiesis.
Dosage
Adults and children over 12 years old:
- To prevent iron deficiency: 1 tablet (325 mg) 1 time per day.
- For the treatment of iron deficiency anemia: 1-2 tablets (325-650 mg) per day; the maximum daily dose is 2 tablets.
Duration of treatment:
- It is usually 2-3 months before the hemoglobin level normalizes.
- To replenish iron reserves in the body, it is recommended to continue taking 1 tablet per day for 3-6 months until the serum ferritin concentration normalizes.
How to use: take orally, on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before meals, swallowing the tablet whole and drinking enough water.
Ferrogradumet is an antianemic medication used to replenish iron deficiency in the body and treat or prevent iron deficiency anemia.

Conditions caused by:
Blood Loss:
- Menorrhagia, metrorrhagia, postpartum bleeding, hemorrhoidal bleeding, peptic ulcer disease, frequent epistaxis (nosebleeds).
Increased Iron Requirements:
- Pregnancy and lactation.
- Insufficient Dietary Iron Intake.
Malabsorption:
- Gastrointestinal conditions such as chronic diarrhea.
Contraindications:
Hemochromatosis:
- Excessive iron accumulation in the body.
Non-Iron Deficiency Anemias:
- Aplastic, hemolytic, sideroachrestic, and pernicious anemia (in decompensated stages).
- Anemia associated with leukemia.
Age Restrictions:
- Not recommended for individuals under 12 years of age.
Hypersensitivity:
- Allergy to any component of the drug.
Side Effects:
- Gastrointestinal System:
- Nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, constipation or diarrhea, black stool (harmless and expected).
- Allergic Reactions:
- Skin rash, itching; rarely, anaphylactic shock.
- Central Nervous System:
- Headache, dizziness, irritability; in rare cases, encephalopathy with epileptic symptoms.
- Other:
- Toothache, sore throat, general weakness, feeling of chest pressure.
Special Instructions:
- Caution in Gastrointestinal Disorders:
- Use with care in patients with peptic ulcer disease, enteritis, or ulcerative colitis.
- Stool Color Changes:
- Black stool is a common, benign effect and has no clinical significance.
- Drug Interactions:
- Reduced Iron Absorption:
- Tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, D-penicillamine, and antacids.
- Increased Iron Absorption:
- Vitamin C enhances absorption.
