Feburic
Feburic is a medication used for the treatment of gout and to lower uric acid levels in the blood.
Indications for Use:
- Treatment of chronic hyperuricemia in adults with conditions associated with urate crystal deposition, including the presence of tophi and/or gouty arthritis (current or in medical history).
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to febuxostat or any excipients in the formulation.
- Patients with rare hereditary conditions such as galactose intolerance, congenital lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
- Concurrent use of azathioprine or mercaptopurine, due to the risk of toxicity.
- Pregnancy and lactation.
- Pediatric patients under 18 years of age.
Side Effects:
- Hepatic: Liver function disorders.
- Gastrointestinal: Nausea, diarrhea.
- Neurological: Headache.
- Dermatological: Skin flushing or erythema.
