Patches containing 2 mg of rotigotine are packaged in a 70-pack.
Active ingredient
Rotigotine is a dopamine receptor agonist.
Dosage
- Initial dose: 2 mg/24 h.
- Dose titration: if necessary, the dose can be increased by 2 mg/24 h at weekly intervals until optimal therapeutic effect is achieved.
- Maximum dose: 8 mg/24 h.
The patch is applied to clean, dry, intact skin, preferably on the abdomen, thigh, upper arm or lateral surface of the trunk. The application site should be changed daily, avoiding reapplication of the same area of skin for 14 days.
Hocunalin is a transdermal therapeutic system (patch) for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome.
Indications for use:
- Treatment of early stages of idiopathic Parkinson's disease as monotherapy.
- Treatment of late stages of Parkinson's disease in combination with levodopa.
- Symptomatic treatment of moderate and severe restless legs syndrome.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to rotigotine or other components of the drug.
- Severe liver dysfunction.
Side effects:
- Reactions at the site of application: redness, itching, irritation.
- Nausea, vomiting.
- Dizziness, drowsiness.
- Headache.
- Orthostatic hypotension.
