Dosage
Initial dose: 5 or 10 mg once daily, regardless of meals.
Crestor is a hypolipidemic drug used to reduce cholesterol levels and prevent cardiovascular disease.

Form of release:
- Film-coated tablets in the following dosages:
- 5 mg
- 10 mg
- 20 mg
- 40 mg
Tablet description:
- 5 mg: round, biconvex, yellow in color, engraved “ZD4522 5” on one side.
- 10 mg: round, biconvex, pink in color, engraved “ZD4522 10” on one side.
- 20 mg: round, biconvex, pink, with engraving “ZD4522 20” on one side.
- 40 mg: oval, biconvex, pink in color, with engraving “ZD4522” on one side and “40” on the other.
Indications for use:
- Primary hypercholesterolemia (type IIa according to Fredrickson), including familial heterozygous hypercholesterolemia.
- Mixed hypercholesterolemia (type IIb).
- Familial homozygous hypercholesterolemia.
- Hypertriglyceridemia (Fredrickson type IV).
- Slowing the progression of atherosclerosis.
- Prevention of cardiovascular complications in patients at increased risk of their development.
Dosage and method of administration:
- Initial dose: 5 or 10 mg once daily, regardless of meals.
- Dose adjustment: if necessary, the dose can be increased after 4 weeks.
- Maximum dose: 40 mg per day, prescribed in exceptional cases in patients with severe hypercholesterolemia and high risk of cardiovascular complications.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or other components of the drug.
- Liver disease in the active phase.
- Severe renal insufficiency.
- Myopathy.
- Concomitant administration of cyclosporine.
- Pregnancy and period of breastfeeding.
