Belsomra is available as film-coated tablets in the following dosages:

Dosage

Initial dose: The recommended initial dose is 10 mg taken 30 minutes before bedtime. After taking it there should be at least 7 hours before the time of awakening.
Maximum dose: If necessary, the dose can be increased to 20 mg per day, depending on tolerability and efficacy. The tablets are taken once daily and eating may delay the onset of action of the drug.
Before using Belsomra, consultation with a physician is recommended to select an appropriate dosage and to take into account contraindications or possible interactions with other drugs.


Belsomra is a medication intended for the treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulty falling asleep and/or maintaining sleep.

Indications for use:

Treatment of insomnia in adult patients.
Contraindications:

Severe hepatic dysfunction.
Narcolepsy and cataplexy.
Concomitant use with strong inhibitors of CYP3A isoenzyme.
Concomitant use with other medicinal preparations used for the treatment of insomnia.
Pregnancy and period of breastfeeding.
Age under 18 years.
Hypersensitivity to suvorexant.
