Initial dose: 25-50 mg before bedtime.
Maintenance dose: 50-150 mg per day, divided into several doses. The maximum daily dose is 300 mg.
In elderly patients: the initial dose is 10-25 mg per day with a gradual increase.
Tablets are taken orally after meals, drinking sufficient water.
Amitriptyline hydrochloride 25 mg (Savaii) is an antidepressant belonging to the group of tricyclic antidepressants. The drug has sedative, antidepressant and analgesic effects. It is used for the treatment of depression of various origins, as well as for chronic pain syndromes and prevention of migraine.
Indications for use:
Depressive states of various etiologies.
Anxiety disorders.
Chronic pain (including neuropathy).
Enuresis in children (as an additional therapy).
Irritable bowel syndrome (in some cases).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to amitriptyline.
Acute myocardial infarction.
Decompensated heart failure.
Narrow-angle glaucoma.
Period of lactation.
Age under 6 years.
Side effects:
Drowsiness, dizziness.
Dry mouth, constipation.
Increase in body weight.
Tachycardia.
Visual disturbance (temporary).
In rare cases - allergic reactions, convulsions.
