Method of administration and dosage:
The usual adult dose is 100 mg of acothiamide hydrochloride.
Hydrate is administered orally three times a day before meals.
By inhibiting the activity of an enzyme called acetylcholinesterase, acotiamide increases gastric motility (automatic movements necessary to move food through the digestive tract) and accelerates the process of gastric emptying.
The drug is intended for adults only. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.
