Belsomra (active ingredient: suvorexant) is a medication indicated for the treatment of insomnia, specifically in patients experiencing difficulty falling asleep and/or maintaining sleep.
Indications for Use:
- Treatment of insomnia in adult patients.
Contraindications:
- Severe hepatic impairment.
- Narcolepsy or cataplexy.
- Concurrent use with strong CYP3A enzyme inhibitors.
- Concurrent use with other medications for the treatment of insomnia.
- Pregnancy and lactation periods (unless explicitly prescribed by a healthcare provider).
- Pediatric patients under 18 years of age.
- Hypersensitivity to suvorexant or any of the medication's components.
